A guidance counselor at Notre Dame High School in Lawrence Township has been charged after a 14-year-old student told police he engaged in sexual contact with her earlier this month, the Mercer County Prosecutor said Thursday.

Antoine A. Hart, 53, of Lawrenceville, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated criminal sexual contact.

Authorities said the investigation began after the student reported that Hart drove her to Mercer County Community College in West Windsor, where he made sexual contact against her in his vehicle.

Investigators also found that Hart sent suggestive text messages to the girl, prosecutors said.

He was arrested April 15 and jailed pending a court appearance.
