The summer weather preview has come to an end. Friday was the last warm day we'll see for a while. It's time to get ready for the chill that sets in early next week.

The weather isn't too bad for tonight, and it will be much more comfortable for sleeping the next few nights with lows in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Saturday will be seasonable with highs in the mid-60s and more sunshine, but Sunday will be drastically different.

A sharp cold front will deliver a good soaking rain for the first half of the day, followed by an unseasonably cold airmass that settles in for early next week. By Monday night, there could be frost and freezing temperatures. If you have started gardening and have plants that could be impacted, plan accordingly for next week.

Sunday's rain will start before the sun rises and go into the afternoon. About a half to three-quarters of an inch of rain will fall. This will help wash away some of the tree pollen collecting on surfaces outside.

Dry and sunny weather will resume next week, but it may take a few days for temperatures to warm back up again.
