Scholar Athlete: Madison Grego, Mount Sinai HS
Madison Grego, a senior from Mount Sinai High School, is this week's winner of the News 12 Scholar Athlete award, sponsored by Fourleaf Federal Credit Union.

Madison Grego is captain of the cheerleading team and helped lead the Mustangs to county and state championships. She's also a two-time national finalist and a member of the Academic All-county team. She's also a technical coach for the Sharks North Shore youth cheerleading squad.
She is in the robotics and STEM clubs. She also conducted research at Brookhaven National Lab looking into ion particle collisions and if they can be used to us about the "Big Bang" and the creation of the universe.
She also plays the viola in the chamber orchestra, is a member of the "Best Buddies" club and is vice president of the homecoming committee.
She has a 95 unweighted GPA.
